September 2012 Update

Hey everyone... whoops, two months since the last post already? OAO Well, I'm quite productive these days so I'll just post some of my new drawings XD

 

Also, on Anime Festival Asia, I finally met with my favorite Anime blogger, Danny Choo! I made a drawing of Mirai, an original character which is the mascot for his website.

And I also took a picture with him! \(^o^)/

Learning Corel Painter

So lately, I've tried to use Corel Painter, because a lot of company requires people who can handle this software. And when I get my hands on it, it's incredible! The brushes are amazing and realistic. The interface is completely different from Photoshop though, so it takes time to get used to it. But so far, I'm enjoying drawing with this software. Here are some of the first drawings I've done using Painter (and Photoshop for finishing touch).

Late March Update

Hi there, a bit late update from me this month.

Recently I've been trying to get a work, so I was kind of busy. But I managed to spare some times for practices. This month I was trying to design a CD Case for my music album.

 

So that's what it looks like. I'm trying to keep it simple, it's my principle in every design of mine. And as you can see, I'll be giving out posters as well. But the realization for this project might be still a long time from now, because I need to focus on my community's compilation album.

February Update

Well, hello there!

It's been a while since my last post, sorry for that. Lots of things to do on January. But now I got a little bit of free time, so I'll be updating this blog before it gets swarmed by moss xD

So... since I've been busy on January, this will be my first drawing on 2012. A little warm-up in Photoshop, nothing special. But after making this I realized, I should make more full-body drawing for anatomy practice. Oh well, next time I'll do just that LOL.

December Update

Hey everyone, sorry for not posting anything for a long time. Got busy on Skyrim lolollolololol.

So anyway, lately I haven't draw many drawings, because I just skipped a week in Art Jam event at DeviantArt, and I really don't know what I want to draw. So here's my last drawing, colored straight from the sketch. Yes, I'm being lazy. B)

So... until I got a new drawing or projects, probably I'm gonna be procrastinating a lot... see ya :D

Next Week is Utatane Piko. I'm planning to do another speedpainting like this so i can get used to Photoshop, because i think i use SAI too often ^^;

Wow, I'm quite surprised when i see these drawing side-by-side. It's been 5 years since i made that drawing on the left.

Doodles & Experiments

So while i wait for the MPV album to be released, i made some doodles to experiment with halftone effect from Photoshop. Quite nice, giving 'Pop' feeling to the drawing.

5 years have passed...

...and i haven't stop drawing. I keep on drawing, even though sometimes i feel stuck and can't go on, i still believe that it all depends on how much practice that you've done to reach the next step.

So i keep on drawing.

WIP for IndoCG.com Challenge

Hi peoples, this is an illustration i am working on for the challenge at IndoCG.com. The theme is a battle between Warrior & Mage, and the illustrators must choose whether they want to draw the warrior, or the mage. I choose the warrior, because there's a lot of people in the Mage already.

So far so good, but i still a bit confused about how to make that fur coat. I'll go scavenging some tutorial for it.

Good day, fellas.

Since the last time i composed a song, i'm beginning to realized something. Do my songs get monotone on the composition? Or is it a good sign of consistency? So i've been thinking, and i've decided, for my next song, i'll try a different genre. Still choosing between Techno or Easy-Listening type, but hell, i'll do both. I'll do the Techno first.

So... oh yeah, i haven't posted the poster for my last song here, so here it is.

And another 'teaser poster' for my next song... well, i already put it as my channel's background in YouTube but, hell, here it is.

Artblock is... blocking.

Yeah, this artblock disease is annoying. I really want to draw something, but somehow every time i tried, it feels wrong. What is the best way to handle this disease? I guess it's my mood swing that cause this. I should get rid of this, classes has started, and i don't want it to get in the way between me & my assignments.

But i guess, it's starts to slowly fade away. I tried to search more speed-painting tutorials on YouTube, and found some. I even found one from my favorite illustrator, Redjuice. God, he's so awesome. And he is using Wacom Cyntiq, damn that makes me drooling.

But well, thanks to that, i'm able to draw something. I guess when i have earn my own money from my own works, i'll save it to buy a Cyntiq.

Back from my cave of procrastination...

Hey there, it's been so long since my last post.

Now i'm working on my 5th song using VOCALOID2 and ACID Pro 7. I'm kinda... unsatisfied with this song. The problem i had with making songs is, i suck at writing lyrics. That's why the 3rd and the 4th song is written by my friends.

This song i'm working on now is titled 'Midnight Noise'. It's just about jamming with your band all night and let the feelings out. Kinda crappy, eh? That's why i said i suck at writing lyrics. Now i'm in the progress of making the video. Since the lyrics is not that much, is quite easy to make this one.

For now, enjoy the poster first.

Playing around with colors

These days i haven't got much inspiration to draw. Usually i listen to music to help me find a theme, or something to draw. But it doesn't help much, so i try to draw whatever comes crossing my mind.

Character Studies

So... last February, i really didn't have any idea of what to draw, so i tried to 'solidify' my Original Characters's Designs. Starting with the main character, Valerie Winters.

From the first time i created her, i haven't found one single perfected visual of her design. It always changes, and somehow it always doesn't feel right in my eyes, so i make a bunch of her drawings.

So that's it. Four drawings so far, and as you can see, her visual aren't consistent yet. I should find a fixed visual design for her, or i won't be able to continue the story.

Barong Speed-Paint

Can't sleep, so i draw some more :D
I've just bought a Barong Trading Figure from MegaTen series. Barong is actually a mystical creature from Indonesia. It's concept is so cool, but looks like lots of illustrator and Comic makers in my country doesn't realize this.

So, this is a tribute for Barong. May it's coolness never dissapear.

Speed-painting Technique

This is a speed-panting of one of my old original Character. A cyborg jackal. Well, to be honest, this is one of my first speed-paint artworks. Turns out great, i presume. I did this in Photoshop CS3, with my Wacom Bamboo Fun in approx. 30 minutes.

I should do this more often, so i can paint more detail in less time.
